upcycled dickie's shirt.

austin set out a pile of clothes he'd outgrown earlier this evening, and this shirt was among them. it was a fave of mine. i decided to make it "sam-sized".

so i did this to it:

and made this!

i stuck it on him and realized it was a lil' long and looked more like a nightshirt.

so i ended up cutting a bit more off of the bottom and hemming again....

it is one of my first ventures into sewing knits, and good practice for me. it was *really* easy because i used the existing neckline/sleeve cuffs. the only thing i had to finish was the bottom hem (that needs a little more practice. i'm not fond of how puckered it turned out looking.) i'm now looking forward to scavenging the thrift stores for cool men's t-shirts that i can remake for my lil' guy!
